A painter, An illustrator.

I am a full time artist and officially start to freelance since 2015. I not only make paintings using oils, but I also use ink and watercolors for my illustrations. Inspiration behind my art is fashion, watching people, flowers, the seasons, food, almost anything. I love travelling and immersing myself in different cultures. I have lived in Colombia, where I was born and raised. Now I am currently living in the Netherlands with my husband and two sons.

A lil bit of her Journey

Being creative and expressing myself have always been part of me. As a child I loved drawing, but I also enjoyed singing and performing for members of my family (something I would not dare to do nowadays!).

I went to art school. I have bachelor in fine arts. Painting is my passion. Besides it, I also do fashion illustration, book illustration, and anything I might be curious about.

The process video

Being an artist is an integral part of me, it doesn’t matter whether I’m painting with oils/watercolors or trying to learn surface pattern design. I think what makes us creative is to be curious and to follow that curiosity.

Freelancing offers me freedom, independence and flexibility. Yet, the biggest struggle right now is making an income. Since lockdown, I have had to cancel or postpone a few planned exhibits and the launching of a book project I have illustrated.

I am at the moment learning Adobe illustrator so that I can turn some of my illustrations into patterns. I am 52 years old, so when I went to school there was not such a thing as digitalization.

A snapshot of her skillful Art Gallery

Besides actually making art, I love art history and (pre pandemic) visited museums, art fairs and galleries regularly.

Proud Moments and goals

When look back at my journey so far, I am most proud of an Exhibition at a local museum and a commissioned work to design promotion art for a movie studio.

The ultimate goal of mine is to become a successful artist and growing both my skills and income.
